"My parents read to us every night for a most of my childhood. It probably wasn't until I got to that point in high school where my marching band schedule and AP class load kept me up far later than my mom and dad could manage to stay awake that they stopped reading to me before bed. My sister is seven years older than me; and so my parents always chose books to read to us that we'd both enjoy. Tolkein was and still is a family favorite look at the Scotch tape cover for proof of our love. As a 12 year old; my sister loved the adventure and the elves; and as a five year old; I remember getting lost in the landscapes. The BarrowDowns; the Shire; the Old Forestthese became the places I played in and grew up in. I've read and reread all of the LOTR books almost too many times to count; and every time; I learn something new and beautiful."
